Gather your supplies: I actually decided not to use the orange feathers (after I snapped a pic of the supplies)
The styrafoam cone is the most expensive the size that I selected was $5.99 but I used a 40% off coupon. Feathers were $1.99 a bag with some leftover for other projects. And I found the sequins on clearance for $0.71.
Begin applying the feathers to the cone at the bottom with an adhesive (I used hot glue) trying to evenly apply them. If you have bare spots it's ok you can fill them in later with smaller feathers.
Apply only a small amount of glue to the bottom of the feather
The sequins came pre-punched with a hole so I just slid these onto the feathers and they stay in place just fine. Repeat until your tree is complete!
Happy Halloween!!!

easy and beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove it. I've missed the boat for Halloween, but I'm seeing feather Christmas trees in my future!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I am planning to make one of these for the upcoming holidays. I love feather trees. This one is seriously perfect. Seeing how you are a new blogger I'm going to point something out and hopefully not offend anyone. But your font is so so tiny it's terribly hard to read. If you had someone design your blog for you you can ask them to enlarge it a bit or do it yourself if you know how. I think with the font you choose and the size it just makes it difficult. But otherwise I am totally enjoying your blog, love the colors and layout! I would be delighted to have you stop by and link this up to my VIP party this weekend! http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/10/vip-party-34.html Have a safe and happy halloween!
