Shopping at Hobby Lobby recently I spotted a really cute Halloween feather tree. I immediately fell in love with it but not with the price tag, even at 50% off it still wasn't in my budget. So I decided to try and create my own "knock-off" version. It turned out to be really easy and fun!! I can't wait to make more for future holidays! Now for the tutorial
Gather your supplies: I actually decided not to use the orange feathers (after I snapped a pic of the supplies)
The styrafoam cone is the most expensive the size that I selected was $5.99 but I used a 40% off coupon. Feathers were $1.99 a bag with some leftover for other projects. And I found the sequins on clearance for $0.71.
Begin applying the feathers to the cone at the bottom with an adhesive (I used hot glue) trying to evenly apply them. If you have bare spots it's ok you can fill them in later with smaller feathers.
Apply only a small amount of glue to the bottom of the feather
The sequins came pre-punched with a hole so I just slid these onto the feathers and they stay in place just fine. Repeat until your tree is complete!
Happy Halloween!!!
